Dr Simone Papale

Associate Fellow

Simone Papale is Associate Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Subversion, Unconventional Interventions and Terrorism (SUIT), University of Nottingham. He was recently awarded a PhD in International Relations without corrections from the University of Nottingham, with a thesis on US interventionism and radicalisation in the African continent. Simone’s research lies at the intersection between the study of Western interventionism in the global South and the emergence of non-state political violence on the ground. He has published articles on terrorist propaganda and dynamics of radicalisation in Kenya in Critical Studies on Terrorism, as well as commentaries for magazines and blogs, the latter of which has recently been published in Security Praxis.
