Dr Manpreet Sethi is Distinguished Fellow, Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies, and Senior Research Advisor, Asia Pacific Leadership Network. Since receiving her doctorate in 1997, she has worked on nuclear energy, strategy, missile defence, arms control, nuclear risk reduction, and disarmament.
She is author/co-author/editor of nine books, four monographs and 150 papers. She lectures regularly at the National Defence College, leading establishments of Indian Armed Forces, Police and Foreign Services, as also at colleges and Universities.
As of 2026, Dr Sethi is a Non-Resident Fellow at BASIC. She is member of the Science and Security Board, Bulletin of Atomic Scientists which annually sets the Doomsday Clock; Co-chair, Association of Women in Nuclear; Co-chair, UN Watch Tower Initiative on Science and Technology Monitoring. Recipient of K Subrahmanyam award (2014), Commendation by Chief of Air Staff (2020); by Commander-in-Chief, Strategic Forces Command (2022); by the Chief of Defence Staff (2026).
