Congratulating BASIC Policy Intern, Laura Rose Brown

We are very happy to announce that Laura Rose Brown is the recipient of the collaborative ESRC studentship between BASIC and University of Leeds, where she is going to be researching the effects of gendering nuclear weapons policy, under the supervision of Dr Laura Considine and Dr Jack Holland

Laura Rose began interning with us in February 2021. In her time with us, she has provided research assistance on the Programme on Nuclear Responsibilities and she is supporting the coordination of our Emerging Voices Network. We were particularly impressed by Laura Rose’s proactive approach to her work and her problem solving skills which will come in very useful when she transitions to her PhD work. We are very excited to continue to work with Laura Rose in our Gender, Youth and Nuclear Weapons Programme and are looking forward to seeing how she will develop her PhD research.
