Obama at the UN

Obama\’s chairing of this historic UN Security Council session has increased the chances of success in moving towards the goal of a world without nuclear weapons, said Anne Penketh, Washington Program Director of the British American Security Information Council (BASIC).

“The 15 members of the Security Council showed today that they are prepared to cooperate in a way that is free from the cynicism surrounding the agenda for a world free of nuclear weapons. As President Obama said, this is a day to celebrate, and it is to be hoped there will be others in the days and months to come,” said Anne Penketh at the UN.
