The Emerging Voices Network (EVN) at BASIC is organising Expert Masterclasses. The EVN’s Senior Masterclasses are our opportunity to tap into the fantastic network of experts that BASIC is fortunate to have, to ask them to deliver their expertise to the EVN. The interactive masterclasses are both skills and content-based, facilitated by BASIC’s Inclusive International Security team. This is a primarily digital resource to make access to expertise more equitable for our global, diverse membership.
On Wednesday 22nd February, Dr Vincent Intondi, Professor of History and Director of the Institute for Race, Justice, and Civic Engagement at Montgomery College in Takoma Park, Maryland, discussed ‘Links in the Same Chain: Race, Social Justice, and Nuclear Weapons’.
In this masterclass, Dr Intondi discusses the connections between race, social justice, and the fight to eliminate nuclear weapons focusing on the historical diversity of the antinuclear movement and how it has always been part of the overall struggle for universal human rights.
