Masterclass from Gry Thomasen: How to Write Effective Policy Papers

On Wednesday, 6 November 2024, BASIC’s Research Director, Dr Gry Thomasen, joined the Emerging Voices Network (EVN) to deliver an Expert Masterclass on ‘How to Write Effective Policy Papers.’

Gry’s presentation gave an overview of the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of policy papers/briefs, such as who they are written for, why specific stakeholders will use them, and what makes them different from other pieces of writing, such as journal articles and op-eds.

After the presentation, the floor was opened up to questions from the EVN members in attendance.

Chair: Declan Penrose, BASIC Policy Fellow
