The Gender, Youth and Diversity Programme at BASIC is now known as Inclusive International Security. This change reflects BASIC’s values of promoting inclusivity and accessibility through numerous means — including meaningful engagement on diversity issues — to contribute to building a more equitable international security future.
In order to achieve this, the programme will continue to advocate for a more diverse international security field by building on the Women, Peace and Security and Youth, Peace and Security agendas. Additionally, the programme will focus on activities that challenge the different forms of discrimination in our field today — including racism and ableism. The programme will also focus on connections between arms control and social justice issues, such as climate change.
