BASIC is pleased to announce the Nuclear Transparency Inventory (NUTRI), a new project being developed by our Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Programme.
The project, led by Policy Fellow Dr Lyndon Burford, will produce annual, peer-reviewed analyses of the transparency practices of all nuclear-armed states regarding their nuclear arsenals and related policies. To guide this work, the project will establish a methodologically rigorous, standardised framework for cataloguing different types of transparency practices. The aim is to produce a tool that can support civil society organisations, academics, and policy practitioners to engage in meaningful dialogue and analysis around the role of transparency in a variety of policy contexts, including but not limited to nuclear deterrence, arms control, and disarmament. The Nuclear Transparency Inventory project is funded by the generosity of Global Affairs Canada and the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands.
