BASIC organized a private roundtable with experts and officials to take stock of the current strategic and political dynamics surrounding negotiations on a Fissile Material (Cut-Off) Treaty (FM(C)T). BASIC produced a backgrounder literature review for the roundtable discussion, and also a report summarizing the discussion.The event was organized in cooperation with the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University. Discussion was anchored around the role of the forthcoming Group of Governmental Experts in moving the FM(C)T process forward.
