The London GCC Nuclear Workshop

Hosted in collaboration with the Center of Information and Arabian-Russian Studies (CIARS), this workshop of officials and international and regional experts in the field of nuclear diplomacy and strategic security discussed the strategic balance in the region, the evolution of deterrence relationships, the development of non- proliferation commitments and credible assurances surrounding them.

Book review of “The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: A Memoir”

In The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: A Memoir, Seyed Hossein Mousavian gives us a rich history of Iran’s nuclear programme and describes his own attempts to achieve a “grand bargain” with the West. He offers a combination of text book and personal accounts but, more importantly, a political analysis of the behavior of all actors involved both past and present.

With much at stake, GCC wants to participate in Iran negotiations

The Middle East has been left out of the P5+1's negotiations with Iran, and the GCC states want in. At a conference on nuclear non-proliferation in the Gulf, participants raised concerns of double standards for Iran and Israel. Gulf states view military action against Iran as a last resort, but also see the Iranian threat as a global one. Anne Penketh reports.
