All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Meeting on New START Extension Prospects

If not extended by the US and Russia by February 2021, the New START Treaty will lapse. Contact between the two parties have been going on in recent weeks but no decision on extension has been reached. If the treaty is terminated, the military-political situation will become significantly more complicated as the US and Russia may uncontrollably build up their nuclear weapons beyond existing limits. There is the additional complication of China’s position, which the US has wanted to see included in their bilateral talks with Russia. Join the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Global Security and Non-Proliferation and the APPG on the United Nations to consider this crisis in nuclear non-proliferation.
